Schwinn World Tourist…Singlespeed/Fixie Build

Reduce.  Re-use.  Recycle…to a point.

Below are pictures of my latest project.  A big difference from it’s original form.  The Schwinn was stripped using Aircraft Stripper, sanded, and clear coated for an industrial steel finish.  Below is a pic of the bike right after I purchased it on Craigslist.

Here is the finished bike sitting outside the Rochester Deli in downtown Waukesha, WI.  We added some old school Weinmann center pull brakes that were sitting around the shop.  Ordered up a new stem, seatpost, and bullhorn handlebars.  Added a Selle Italia saddle I had in the garage.  Topped it off with a new Weinmann DP18 wheelset.  Looks great, rides great.
